Curt Morbens the bossAug 14 and 15 saw local racers Curt Morben and Jack Maunu (The BOSS), Scott Clay (RICOCHET) along with Lac La Hache racers Andy Antle (DEFRIBULATOR) and Jim Mead (BOONDOGGLE) head to Heritage Park in Chilliwack for two days of out and out high powered mud racing action. The local racers are all competing in the North West Mud Racing "Amix Salvage" points series. In 38 degree weather the competition was as fierce as the heat they were racing in.

Lac La Hache racer Andy Antle took home a first place in the Super Mod D-class after 4 consistent passes pushed him far past the competition.

Morben and Maunu came away with a 3rd place after a barrage of problems prevented them from completing two passes. Even with mechanical issues Morben and Maunu in the Cariboo Chiropractic Center sponsored car 'The BOSS' showed the crowd that even running on 7 cylinders they are truly the boss in Super Mod D-class as they came away with the prize for the fastest pass again, running a 3.1 second pass in a 200 foot pit of 15 inch deep mud. Morben and Maunu have claimed the fastest pass title at every race this year. They were also able to protect their lead in the class by increasing the gap to 50 points.

Lac La Hache racer Jim "BOONDOGGLE" Mead took away first place in the unlimited E-class and also claimed the fastest pass of the weekend in his class.

Local Racer Scott Clay claimed second place in the crowd favorite RICOCHET. Scott was plagued with fuel and nitrous oxide delivery problems but held his own with the big engine he built.

Fastest car of the weekend went to Steven Strell from Surrey BC. Steve's car was definitely tuned up for this race as he took his car across the finish line more than once on the weekend at 2.3 seconds followed closely by Brad Astbury from Langley just a few hundredths of a second behind him. These guys are the big boys of mud racing turning heads with some of the fastest times in North America.
