100 Mile House RCMP weekly updates to January 9, 2012

100 Mile House RCMP responded to 71 complaints and calls for service last week.
On January 6, 100 Mile Traffic Services observed a vehicle operating at a high rate of speed on Begbie Summit. The vehicle was checked on radar at 158 km/h, and was subsequently stopped. The male driver from the 100 Mile House area was issued a ticket for excessive speed. The vehicle was impounded for seven days.
On January 7, 100 Mile House Traffic Services were conducting an impaired driving check stop on Canim Hendrix Lake Road near Highway 97. The driver of a white Ford pick-up displayed signs of intoxication, an approved screening device was administered road side. The result was a fail and the driver was returned to 100 Mile House where two breath tests were administered; the results were 260 and 240 mg%. Charges of Driving Over The Legal Limit are being recommended to Crown against a 44 year old female resident of Calgary.
