100 Mile House RCMP report to December 31, 2012

100 Mile House RCMP responded to 73 complaints and calls for service last week.
On December 30 the 100 Mile House RCMP responded to a collision between a pickup truck and an Interior Roads snow plow on Highway 24 and Watch Lake Road. The driver of the pickup had attempted to pass the snow plow when the snow plow was turning left onto Watch Lake Road.
There were no injuries; however, there was significant damage to the pickup truck. The male driver of the pickup was issued a ticket for passing on the left in an unsafe manner.
On December 30 100 Mile Traffic Services observed a vehicle operating at a high rate of speed through 100 Mile House on Highway 97. The vehicle was recorded as high as 70km over the posted speed limit. The officers followed the vehicle and managed to get a license plate but then discontinued the pursuit because of road and traffic conditions. A short time later the vehicle was located on the 93 Mile Loop Road where it was stuck in a ditch. The out-of-province driver was identified at the scene and was charged with a number of infractions of the Motor Vehicle Act. The driver’s vehicle was impounded for 7 days for excessive speed. The investigation into this matter is continuing.
On December 31 100 Mile House RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter to a residence that was under construction in 105 Mile. Unknown culprits gained access to the residence through a rear window. Approximately $3,500 in tools was stolen from the property. Investigation into this matter is continuing.
