RCMP shield crest100 Mile House RCMP responded to 88 complaints and calls for service. Some highlights are below.

On October 24, 100 Mile House Traffic Services stopped a vehicle for not wearing a seatbelt on Highway 97 in 100 Mile House. The male driver from the lower mainland had a seatbelt exemption however, he displayed signs of having consumed liquor. An approved screening device was administered at the scene. The result of which was a fail. The driver met the criteria and was subsequently issued an immediate roadside prohibition for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

On October 25, 100 Mile House Traffic Services  responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver consuming liquor on Highway 97 coming north into 100 Mile House. The vehicle, a red Ford Ranger was located and stopped at the south end of 100 Mile House. The male driver showed symptoms of impairment and was detained. He was returned to the 100 Mile House Detachment and two breath samples were obtained. The results were both 320mg%. Charges of Impaired Driving and Driving over the Legal Limit are being recommended to Crown against a 53 year old male resident of Vernon.

On October 26, 100 Mile House RCMP and members of the Cariboo Regional Marihuana Enforcement Team executed a search warrant pursuant to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act at a residence on Watch Lake Road. 892 marihuana plants in various stages of production were seized along with marihuana production equipment. Charges of Marihuana Production and Production for the purpose of trafficking will be recommended to Crown against two adult residents of the property.

On October 29, 100 Mile House RCMP responded to an assault complaint on Canim Lake First Nations. A male victim had been assaulted by another male from the Community. The victim was transported by family members to the 100 Mile House Hospital for treatment. The male suspect was located shortly afterwards. He was arrested and held in 100 Mile House until sober. The victim was treated and released from hospital. A charge of Assault causing bodily harm is being recommended to Crown against a 37 year old male resident of Canim Lake. The investigation into this matter is continuing.

CRIME STOPPERS TIP OF THE WEEK
Sometime overnight on October 26, unknown culprits broke into a business in the industrial area on Exceter Road in 100 Mile House. The bottom pane of glass on the front door was smashed out. Welders and various other industrial tools were taken from the business. This could be related to the theft of a Dodge pickup from Dogwood avenue during the same period. This vehicle was subsequently used in Williams Lake at another Break & Enter.
