100 Mile House RCMP highlights to September 6, 2010

100 Mile House RCMP responded to 80 complaints and calls for service this past week. Some of the highlights include:
On August 30, 100 Mile House RCMP responded to an altercation in the 5400 block of Canim Hendrix Lake Road. A female had come to the residence to claim a vehicle which she believed was hers. The occupants of the residence attempted to stop her from leaving. A male occupant of the residence jumped on the hood of the vehicle. He fell from the hood and the vehicle left the scene, however it was located a short distance away and the driver was detained. The male suffered a shoulder injury and was taken to hospital where he was treated and released. The investigation is continuing into this matter, no charges have been pursued yet.
On August 31, 100 Mile House RCMP responded to a traffic accident on Highway 97 bear the 108 Ranch airport. The driver displayed signs of intoxication, was detained and returned to the 100 Mile House RCMP detachment where two breath samples were obtained. The results were 190 and 180 mg%. Charges of Impaired Driving and Driving Over the Legal Limit are being recommended to Crown against a 32 year old male resident of 100 Mile House.
In the early morning house of September 4, 100 Mile House RCMP received a complaint that a male wearing only a green hat had 'streaked' through the Tim Horton's. The male had entered through the front door and exited through the side door. He then got into a newer white pick-up truck and left the area. Patrols were made, but the vehicle was not located. The investigation into this matter is continuing.
On September 4, 100 Mile House RCMP, BC Ambulance and Fire Rescue responded to a report of a male floating in Canim Lake. The male was pulled from the water and found to be non-responsive. He was pronounced dead by BC Ambulance Service. Investigation determined that the male, who had been fishing in a canoe, had last been seen at approximately 8:30pm. The canoe was located, submerged, close to a dock a short distance from where the man had been located. Signs of liquor consumption were found at eh scene. It is not known if he was wearing a personal floatation device. The coroner is still investigating, the name has not been released at this time.
On September 5, 100 Mile House RCMP responded to a single vehicle collision on Horse Lake Road. The four occupants of the vehicle had been transported to the 100 Mile House Hospital by a passer-by. Three of the four were then transported to a Kamloops hospital with non life threatening injuries. The investigation into the cause of this collision is continuing.
On September 6, 100 Mile House RCMP and 100 Mile Traffic Services responded to a vehicle collision on Highway 97 at the Highway 24 junction. A Mercury Sable was travelling west on Highway 24, it entered Highway 97 and was struck by a Dodge pick-up in the south-bound lane. One occupant of the Doge pick-up sustained minor injures, one occupant of the Sable was extracted from the passenger side of the vehicle and transported to 100 Mile Hospital with serious but non life threatening injuries. The investigation into this matter is continuing. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
