RCMP News Briefs to October 26, 2009100 Mile RCMP responded to 74 complaints and calls for service over the last week. Here are some of the highlights:

On October 20th, 100 Mile RCMP received a report that overnight, a vehicle license plate had been stolen from an vehicle parked on Cedar Avenue.

On October 21st, 100 Mile RCMP received a report that some heavy equipment on the 1100 Road had been moved and damaged. The amount of damage is estimated at $5000. The investigation into this matter is continuing.

On October 22nd, 100 Mile Traffic Services and 100 Mile General Duty members responded to a single vehicle roll-over accident on Highway 24 at Barrett Road. A loaded logging truck had flipped on its side while negotiating a corner. The load of logs spilled onto the road, ditch and adjacent property. The driver was taken to hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries. The investigation into this incident is continuing. If anyone from the public witnessed this event, they are asked to contact 100 Mile Traffic Services at 250 395-2456.

On October 23rd, 100 Mile RCMP responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle was located and the driver identified. The driver was believed to have consumed liquor. The driver refused to comply with a roadside demand. Charges of refusal are being recommended to Crown against a 44 year old resident of Agassiz.

On October 24th, 100 Mile RCMP received a complaint of a break and enter to a residence at Edmonds Lake. Entry appears to have been gained by a window being broken. Several articles were disturbed and some items were removed from the residence. The investigation into this matter is continuing.

On October 26th, 100 Mile Traffic Services responded to two accidents near Lac Des Roche Resort. The first accident was an eastbound vehicle losing control on snowy roads and impacting a westbound vehicle. The passenger of the second vehicle was taken to 100 Mile Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The second accident was in the same location where a van carrying two people lost control and slid off the road. Both occupants of that vehicle were transported to 100 Mile Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Weather and road conditions were factors in both incidents. The investigation into these incidents is continuing.

There were several driving complaints received and two 24 hour roadside driving suspensions were administered.
