RCMP News Briefs to October 19, 2009100 Mile RCMP responded to 76 complaints and calls for service over the last week. Here are some of the highlights:

On October 14th, 100 Mile RCMP received a report that a Dodge pick-up truck had been vandalized while parked at the Cariboo Arena sometime between 5:00 and 7:00pm on October 13th. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.

Sometime during the night of October 13th, a rock was thrown through a window of one of the storage buildings at the 108 Mall. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.

On October 16th, 100 Mile RCMP received a report of a theft that occurred sometime overnight on October 6th. A tool chest full of tools, a table saw and a chainsaw were reported as stolen from a residence on the 800 block of Scott Road. The investigation into this matter is continuing.

On October 16th, 100 Mile RCMP checked a grey GMC Escalade in the downtown area of 100 Mile House. The vehicle and the license plate had been reported as stolen out of Salmon Arm. The two occupants were arrested. The 42 year old male occupant of the vehicle was remanded into custody for a court appearance Monday morning. The 46 year old female was released pending an appearance in December. The investigation into this matter is continuing.

On October 16th, 100 Mile Traffic Services were conducting a road check when a driver attempted to avoid being stopped. The driver was stopped and determined to be impaired by alcohol. The driver was returned to the detachment and breath readings of 160 and 170 mg% were obtained. Charges of impaired driving and driving over the legal limit are being recommended to Crown against a 41 year old male resident of 100 Mile House.

On October 18th, 100 Mile House RCMP responded to a complaint of a female yelling for help near the 100 Mile Elementary School. Investigation and statements from independent witnesses indicated the 29 year old female victim had been assaulted by her 26 year old common law spouse. The male suspect was arrested and held until sober. He was released on conditions with a court date in December. The investigation into this matter is continuing.
