Cariboo author launches book in 100 Mile House

The ‘Legendary Betty Frank,’ whose life-story has now been told by Cariboo author Sage Birchwater, will be doing book signings throughout the Cariboo this week, including Quesnel and 100 Mile House, as the book is launched.

Fans lined up on Friday in Williams Lake at Save on Foods to meet Betty, enjoy a chat with Sage and get a book signed for themselves or for a lucky recipient for Christmas.
The book, ‘The Legendary Betty Frank—the Alpine Queen of the Cariboo’, is currently being launched at seven location in Williams Lake: Save On Foods, Margett’s Meats, Cariboo Book Bin, Station House Gallery, the Museum, Native Arts and Crafts and the Open Book.
Sage and Betty both went to Quesnel on Saturday to promote the book at the Farmer’s Market Christmas Craft Fair, and will be in Quesnel for the next three weekends. They are going to Prince George on Monday, then back to Quesnel for a ‘major launch’ on Tuesday at City Council Chambers at 7:00pm. At that event Murray Boal (author of Working with Betty Frank,’ the song quoted in the book) will perform the tune with Bob Campbell. Sage and Betty have also been invited to the Barkerville Christmas event to present the book.
