This horoscope applies from the New Moon in Aquarius ( February 13) to the New Moon in Pisces (March 15)

The mysterious side of everyday life may be more than usually evident over the coming month, and even beyond. This New Moon plants a seed of futuristic visions, of truths we can feel but maybe not prove.

Build on recent mind research and creatively imagine the life you want to manifest for yourself and the world. Since we’re super-impressionable now, we can more easily lay down new neural pathways in the brain and program change. Top-flight athletes are already practicing these skills when they mentally preview their events and see themselves performing at their peak. Science-based initiatives like the Global Coherence Initiative, which attempts to measure the effects of collective intention on the Earth’s magnetic field, expand our understanding of the true power of consciousness.

This New Moon also launches the Year of the Tiger in Chinese Astrology. They predict a tumultuous year requiring warrior-like focus, like an encounter with the unpredictable, explosive and powerful striped cat. Adapting to quick changes is key to success in any field this year. Sounds very like the Western Astrologers’ view too.

Sun enters Pisces on February 18, and Mercury follows on March 1, joining Venus, Jupiter and Uranus. An image that comes to mind is a school of fish, suddenly and uniformly changing direction in a flashing instant. How do they communicate that THIS is the exact moment? What would happen if we humans learned to unify our intentions in such a way? In this period, we are more likely to realize our collective interdependence, and to feel universal compassion. Individually, we may feel a loss of purpose in our lives and seek meaning in some deeper source, or hope for solace in escapist behaviours.

The Full Moon in Virgo on the last day of February offers the perspective that big dreams require meticulous steps to become reality. Attention to detail makes high hopes achievable.

A remarkable collaboration of the planets Mercury (mind), Mars (applied energy) and Saturn (discipline) can be very helpful. When we work in harmony with the predominant energies, our effectiveness is much greater. Thus, this month could see outstanding achievements in the fields of science, arts and diplomacy. We “little people” can also take advantage of this influence by focussing our minds with determined intention on solving our thorniest dilemmas. Straight, factual communication and reaching out to our support networks help ease us over seemingly insurmountable hurdles.

When Venus moves into Aries on Feb 7, our delight in novelty can lead us to impulsive actions more thrilling than wise. This energy is great for raising the enthusiasm that moves toward our goals, so long as we’re committed to staying the course through the hard parts.

For Aries, the 16th is a particularly delightful day, with high spirits and opportunities. From March 3-12, be prepared for unexpected obstacles. Unusual measures may be necessary to keep you in top health, and other people may require your support or try to exert undue authority over you. They want your cooperation and approval now; even though you probably prefer to go your own way for awhile, consider what you have to offer your community. In the long run, that’s more important. Life starts to move forward again on many fronts after March 10.

Taurus, you too need to focus on your role in the collective, whether that means professional demands or family obligations, in the early part of this cycle. Your inner life and private concerns offer solace after March 7, even as daily duties escalate. If it feels like a struggle to live in both worlds, talking with a supportive friend, especially on Feb 4, can help you put it all in perspective.

Mist settles into the spaces in Gemini‘s brain around the Full Moon, making factual perception and communication difficult. Shades of grey and shape-shifting terrain just mean you’re thinking more emotionally than usual. You can in fact express yourself very clearly if you talk about what your heart feels rather than what your intellect knows. If this is a stretch, try reading some poetry or fantasy, listening to wordless music or experimenting with shapes and colours to convey your thoughts. True inspiration may lurk in hidden places around March 7.

Cancer is said to be more sensitive than the rest of us to fluctuations in the vibe-o-sphere. Thus, you resonate with the feeling-tone of New and Full Moons. During the current cycle, resources and power you share with others may be confusing or elusive. Do you have questions about what you owe or have coming to you? Don’t ignore those little tinglings of doubt. Dig deep for the facts around Feb 23, and be prepared to confront the truth by the 28th. Even if there’s nothing untoward going on, you’ll be in a stronger position once you know where you stand.

The Sun looks pretty much the same every time we see it, but astronomers are realizing that it’s subject to major fluctuations. Magnetic variability, solar winds, and violent storms of radiation all affect life on earth. This may sound like the personality you’ve always lived with, Leo, but the rest of the world will be learning more about your ruling planet now that NASA has launched the Solar Dynamics Observatory. They hope eventually to be able to predict space-weather impacts on our communication and power technologies and understand how our upper atmosphere protects us. Maybe then we’ll learn to understand your dramatic range of emotions and stop expecting you to shine with constant radiance!

Astrologically, the Sun goes into Pisces on Feb. 18. That may begin a period of relative reserve for you, where you have to set aside your agenda and attend to the psychological space you share with others. A judicious application of restrained power can adjust the balance on the 23rd. With the Full Moon of the 28th you should be feeling optimistic and full of potential again.

Virgo you know what you have to do, and you might as well stay on task while the Force is with you. Make your health a priority, as this cycle is especially good for building strength and stamina. People will want to confide in you and maybe even look for rescue after March 1. You’ve got good advice to offer around the 4th, and you can really hit the target on the 7th with your sensitivity and good judgment. Be open to others’ wisdom too. The Full Moon of Feb 28 highlights your image in a way that could leave you feeling a little uncertain. If you’re feeling judged, maybe it’s your own doubts talking. Confidence grows in the following days, and by the second week of March you’re on solid ground again.

Ask for what you want during the early days of this cycle, Libra. Even if what you get isn’t exactly what you expect, you’re going to benefit and be appreciated on Feb. 16th. Commit some stealthy kindness under the Full Moon of the 28th – the secret satisfaction will be delicious. March 3-7 promises excitement and perhaps pleasing new social or romantic connections that could really work for you. From the 9th to the 11th, though, you need to keep your wits about you as there could be some changes with long-term implications.

Scorpio, things could get pretty busy at home for you in this cycle, but there’s plenty of opportunity for both serious progress and serious pleasure. Children and/or creative inspiration delight your heart, while you’re firing on all cylinders at work. You sense what’s the right thing to do most of this lunar month, and energy that’s been held back surges ahead after March 10. Just beware of jealousy – your own maybe? – around March 11. It can set you back, so take a deep breath before saying or doing anything you’ll regret.

The last 6 years have seen many disruptions and surprises in your private life, Sagittarius, and there’s one more year of the unpredictable influence from Uranus. If you need help seeing the up side of all that, your ruling planet, Jupiter, smiles on that area of life for the rest of this year, joined by Venus, the lovely planet of love and beauty for the rest of February. It’s a good year to upgrade your digs, whether that means moving to a bigger or more comfortable space or doing some renos to the existing pad. Your family and/or a parent could give you special joy at the Full Moon on Feb 28. Is there a family member you need to reconcile with? Try a peace offering then. Say exactly what you mean around March 7, and you’ll finally be heard.

It could take awhile to see the results, Capricorn, but this cycle offers solid opportunities. You can be very persuasive by showing how your values and resources overlap with others’. No need to pull rank, though you have the authority to do so. In fact, too heavy a hand could undo your progress. You’re learning a lot about cooperation now, and that may mean deferring to others sometimes. Yes, even if they are not as well organized as you are. If your work/life balance needs tuning up, make some changes around March 7, when you’ll have a good feel for what’s going please you in the long run.
