It doesn't matter whether your idea of relaxing means a mocktail or cocktail. The fresh taste of home-grown herbs added to your favourite summer beverage will make your lips smack with every sip.
Clip some fresh mint for your cranberry drink or add two sprigs of cilantro to your Mojito. The crowning touch of taste is best when it comes from the really fresh herbs you've just picked from your backyard garden or patio container.

Measles cases confirmed in Interior Health region
Health and Fitness - Health
Interior Health is asking healthcare professionals and the public to be alert for the signs and symptoms of measles, after three people in the region were diagnosed with the disease in the last 10 days.
The three cases are not directly connected to each other, occurring in Vernon, Lillooet and Williams Lake, and only one case had overseas exposure in a measles–endemic area. The last two cases identified over the Easter weekend had no travel-history outside of their community, which is a concern, as it means there is otherwise unrecognized case spread and exposure from the Lower Mainland measles outbreak identified in the previous two weeks. All three cases lacked full two-dose measles vaccination protection.
Smile, it's oral health month

What's more important – a good-looking body or having a healthy-looking smile?
According to the recent Crest and Oral-B Great Canadian Smile Survey, teeth win over toned abs. Two in three Canadians say a healthy smile is an important health factor (62 per cent), ranking ahead of physical fitness and body appearance (57 per cent).
Warm spring brings early start to tick season
Health and Fitness - Health
People across Interior Health have been able to get outdoors earlier than usual this year to enjoy the warm weather, and this means an increased chance of getting tick bites when hiking or biking in tall grass or wooded areas. Ticks are small bugs that bite and feed on the blood of humans and animals and these bites can sometimes transmit disease.
Interior Health wants to promote the precautions people can take to prevent illness that may be transmitted from tick bites. “There are easy things you can do to protect yourself, like covering up and checking for ticks when returning from a walk, hike or bike ride,” says Jennifer Jeyes with Interior Health’s Communicable Disease Unit. “Most tick bites do not result in illness, however any bite from a tick or other insect should be cleaned, as infection can occur whenever there is a break in the skin.”

How to add an hour to your day
Health and Fitness - Health
Whether it's hitting the snooze button, mindlessly surfing the Internet or even “watching and waiting” for the water to get hot enough in the shower, everyone wastes time throughout their day. Be aware of common daily time wasters; and by eliminating some (or all), you'll be able to get much more out of your day.
Lists That Work for You
If your “to-do” list is too long it may actually prevent you from crossing things off. Try creating a shorter list that includes only your top three priorities each day – you'll get a major self-esteem boost when you can cross off all three tasks, day after day, motivating you to do more in the same amount of time.
