Meldrum Complex: 

An evacuation alert remains is in effect for all properties south of the current evacuation area including the military reserve to Highway 20 and west of the military reserve to just east of Lee’s Corner. 

Place Complex 

Dog Creek  Reserve #1 and surrounding areas remain under an evacuation alert after being downgraded from an evacuation order yesterday. 

Pelican Complex 

A new evacuation alert has been issued for the Pelican Lake Complex covering the area south of the current evacuation order to just north of Rainbow Lake. 

Bull Canyon Complex 

An evacuation alert is in place within the Bull Canyon Complex covering an area just east of the community of Alexis Creek to just west of the Bayliff Road/Highway 20 junction.   

 

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW IF YOU ARE IN AN EVACUATION ALERT AREA: 

Residents will be given as much advance notice as possible prior to evacuation however you may receive limited notice due to changing conditions. 

Upon notification of an ALERT, you should be prepared for the evacuation order by:

·         Locate all family members or co-workers and arrange a place to meet outside the evacuation area.

·         Gather essential items such as medications, eyeglasses, valuable papers (i.e. insurance), immediate care needs for dependants and, if you choose, keepsakes (photographs, etc.), and have these items available for quick departure.

·         Be ready to evacuate any family members with special needs or children.

·         Make arrangements or move pets and livestock to a safe area.

·         Make transportation arrangements for household members in the event of an Order. If you need transportation assistance from the area please call the CRD’s Emergency Operations Centre at 250- 392-4283.

·         Arrange accommodations for your family if possible. In the event of an evacuation, Emergency Social Services (ESS) Reception Centres will be opened if required.

·         Listen to local news sources for information on evacuation orders and locations of ESS Reception Centres. 

Currently, 85 persons are registered with Emergency Social Services (ESS) in Quesnel, and 61 persons are registered at the ESS in Williams Lake.
