Evacuation Orders need to be obeyed for everyone's safety
| Firewatch |

Residents within evacuation areas are reminded that Evacuation Orders are implemented as a result of imminent danger. When you are asked to leave, follow the directions given to you by the RCMP or Search and Rescue teams.
Those people who decide to stay against an evacuation order will not have the availability of emergency services in the event that the fire reaches their property or cuts off escape routes. There will also be no opportunity for emergency rescues as this requires over taxed emergency personnel and puts their lives in danger too.
Residents that reside in an evacuation area that do not leave the area to register for Emergency Social Services are not eligible for any other assistance.
Under the British Columbia Emergency Response Management Systems (BCERMS), the first four priority goals of emergency response are as follows;
- Provide for the safety and health of all responders
- Save lives
- Reduce suffering
- Protect public health
