Evacuation order issued for Xgat’tem Indian Reserve #2 Dog Creek

Dog Creek First Nation – A State of Emergency has been declared for the Xgat’tem also known as the Canoe Creek First Nation.
The Cariboo Regional District, working in partnership with Indian and Northern Affairs Canada and the Canoe Creek First Nation to provide Emergency Operations and Emergency Social Services to band members.
An Evacuation Order has been issued for Dog Creek Reserve #2 as a result of a wildfire.
An Evacuation Alert has been issued for Dog Creek #1.
A total of 31 residents from IR # 2 are affected by the evacuation, while roughly 100 residents are now under alert on IR#1.
