cariboo_fire_centre_update 30_july-10 at 8:40pmDue to windy, hot, dry conditions, fire activity continues to intensify and challenge wildfire personnel.

Aggressive fire behaviour has caused the Dog Creek fire, located 40 kilometres south of William’s Lake, to reach an estimated 1,800 hectares in size. Fire crews are on site, working in conjunction with heavy machinery to create a fire guard on the southern flank of the fire. Helicopters are also on site, dropping water on the fire’s perimeter. The Forest Service’s primary objective is to protect life and property. Structural Protection Units have been put in place on structures immediately threatened.

Evacuation Orders have been issued to an area 40 kms south of Williams Lake, BC due to increased activity with the wildfire burning in that areaThe fire, located 40 kilometres south of William’s Lake, has caused Evacuation Orders and Alerts in the Dog Creek area.
