To the delight of many shoppers, Fern Pryndik opened up Fern's Boutique at 217 Birch Avenue in October of 2008. The store is filled with amazing apparel, jewelry and gifts. The fashions range from Arwen's Apparel to the wares of local designers and artists.
On Saturday, Fern opened up her shop to showcase some of these designer's creations. Fern herself designs clothing and jewelry. She and other artists were available to discuss their goods with the public. An informal fashion show was also hosted at the shop.
The artists included Ramona MacKay, who designs and crafts wheel and hand-built pottery – lamps, bowls, cups, birdhouses, wind chimes and soap dishes with your choice of scented soaps. Joanne Young's tastes are a bit eclectic and this is evident in her wonderful and whimsical silks, scarves, and paintings. Lynda Bernard showed her fabulous display of wall tapestries, pillows and saddle blankets. Karen Christianson (not pictured) makes beautiful wool hats, sweaters, and accessories. Willie Gallant paints exquisite designs on glassware. Her artistry is gorgeous.
These artisans truly are talented and their products would make fantastic gifts for any occasion. Stop by Fern's Boutique (across from the Royal Bank) and enjoy a unique shopping experience.
