Pierre Dion started out his working career as a grocery boy at a Co-op. That lasted for four days. You see, at that time Pierre didn’t like dealing with the public. He then became a heavy-duty mechanic, but when his father invited him to join his business, Exeter Forest
and Marine Sales, he thought it would be great, to be his own boss and make tons of money! That was twenty-five years ago and twenty-five years of 12 hours, six days a week, and a one week holiday a year. And Pierre still loves the business!

After seven years of working with Dad, Pierre’s wife Diane took over as an equal partner with Pierre. To this date she still does the accounting and helps in the store. Exeter Forest and Marine staff stress the fact that customer service is most important to them. They are knowledgeable about the products they sell. Products include lawn and garden supplies, grass trimmers, lawn mowers, lawn tractors, and water pumps. For boaters, they sell Yamaha outboards and aluminum and pontoon boats. Forestry workers can buy the best with Husqvarna and Stihl chainsaws, related clothing and safety apparel.

The store is  a Chevron Oil distributor and also carries heavy duty equipment Donaldson oil and fuel filters. Want to keep toasty warm in winter? Check out the Harman pellet stoves. Harman is an undisputed leader of stove manufacturing. The store also sell pellets.

Pierre says, “ This is really a customer service business and our customers are great!” As forestry has had a really tough go this last year and the recreational summer season is almost over, Pierre hopes that people will take a few minutes and come into the store to see the many different items they have for sale.
