'Run Outta Road' played for a 40-50 person audience

It was a fair-sized crowd for a non-Halloween event October 29 when Huncity Production's latest release Run Outta Road premiered at the South Cariboo Theatre. The video is a collaboration between HunCity producer Charles Jones and musician Laura Kelsey.
Charles opened the event by telling the guests how the video came to be.
“I was filming a Hootenanny Cafe event in Forest Grove and Laura was playing. Later on, I asked her what song she and Peter Thorne were playing – she said it was an original tune called 'Run Outta Road.'”
Charles, who documented B.C.'s rural school closures in School's Out? (aired on Shaw TV in June), and Laura then connected over music and film ideas. The song was recorded, mixed and mastered at the Armoury (Vancouver) and Claymore (Abbotsford) studios, and video locations were scouted throughout the South Cariboo. Shooting began with the help of a great local crew, who held lights, drove trucks and lent their classic vehicles to the project.

At the premiere, Laura also said a few words and then performed two songs with local guitarist Doug Steven before “Run Outta Road” played for 40-50 person audience.
“It's always awesome to see your work on the big screen. The South Cariboo Theatre is so supportive of local projects – they screened School's Out?, too. It felt great to have support from the community – I think the more support you have, the easier it is to create.”
