RCMP News Briefs to September 29, 2009

100 Mile RCMP responded to 86 complaints and calls for service over the last week.
On September 25th, 100 Mile RCMP responded to a break and enter complaint from a unit located at the Rangeland Motel. The property owner reported a dark pickup had been seen in the parking lot at the time of the incident; however, no further description could be provided. A laptop computer was stolen from the unit. The investigation into this matter is continuing.
On September 25th, 100 Mile Traffic Services responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 24 at Interlakes. A semi-trailer had been parked on the side of the road when it is believed the parking brake failed. The semi rolled backwards down the side of the road and struck a rock. A small amount of diesel fuel was lost. The vehicle was removed from the scene. The investigation is continuing.
On September 25th, 100 Mile RCMP were conducting foot patrols in Centennial Park and located two individuals who were too intoxicated to care for themselves. Both people were lodged until sober and released without charges.
On September 26th, 100 Mile RCMP responded to a collision at Horse Lake Road and Cariboo Trail between a car and an S.U.V. The driver of the S.U.V. traveling east on Horse Lake Road swerved to miss a collision with a car which had come off of Cariboo Trail. A passenger in the car was treated on scene and released. The driver of the car was issued a Violation Ticket under the Motor Vehicle Act.
On September 26th, 100 Mile RCMP responded to a domestic assault in 100 Mile House. A female victim alleged she had been assaulted by her ex-husband. The male suspect was located, arrested, and released with conditions. Charges of assault are being forwarded to the Crown against a 38 year old resident of 100 Mile House.
While assisting with another investigation, on September 26th, 100 Mile Traffic Services located an impaired driver. The male was detained and returned to the detachment. Investigation determined his blood alcohol level exceeded the legal limit. Charges of impaired driving and driving over the legal limit have been recommended to Crown against a 49 year old resident of Canim Lake.
On September 27th, 100 Mile RCMP conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle. The driver was determined to be impaired by alcohol. The female driver was returned to the detachment. Investigation determined her blood alcohol to exceed the legal limit. Charges have been recommended to Crown against a 25 year old resident of 100 Mile House.
