100 Mile Angels 3rd Annual Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction

The 100 Mile Angels are hosting their third spaghetti dinner and silent auction on October 17th, 2009 at the 100 Mile House Community Hall. This evening of fun and friendship will help raise money to find a cure for breast cancer. The dinner-dance will feature the James Gang and Casa Roma's will be offering up their usual scrumptious cuisine.
Says Angel April Roberts, “We hope to see a full house for such a wonderful cause as we all know someone who has been affected by cancer.”
April Roberts and Jane Felker are the 100 Mile Angels. Their stories explain their dedication to the cause:
April... I have lost many friends and family to cancer. Some are survivors like Jane. In my lifetime there will be, perhaps not a complete cure, but if you get it, the chance of surviving it will be more probable. In 2006, Jane and I were at the CIBC Run/Walk for the Cure in Kamloops, BC. When we were walking I was inspired by the whole situation and by all the people involved in the run/walk. As Jane and I chatted back and forth, the idea to form a group and raise more money for the cure came to mind. Now, what to call ourselves...the mod squad...no...Charlie's angels...no...how about the '100 Mile Angels' since that is where we are from....so we giggled about that, agreed - and hopefully as a group, we can raise even more money for the cure.
Jane ... In 2004 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. My friend April was there for me from the beginning – during my rigourous treatment, the loss of my hair, the horrible chemo and radiation – she was my strength. When I was down, she would make me laugh and present me with little gifts that were appropriate for the stage of my treatment. During the CIBC Run/Walk for the Cure that we attended, we decided that we were going to do more to help find a cure for this horrible disease. We chose '100 Mile Angels' and our hope is that we can raise as much money as possible for research for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
April and Jane are committed to their goal and every year their Spaghetti Dinner offers great food and entertainment and a lot of camaraderie and laughs. Be sure to attend this fundraiser.
